Age 49
Passed away July 16, 2014 due to sarcoma. A memorial service has been scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory on Friday, July 25, 2014. Daren graduated from Warren Central H.S., in Indianapolis. He was a self taught Gold Smith specializing in high end custom jewelry. One of the pieces he worked on was a bracelet with brail engraving for Stevie Wonder. Daren had several stores in Indiana and Michigan and worked tirelessly at honing his craft. He loved sailing, fishing, camping, golfing, playing the guitar, and just spending time with family and friends. He brought joy to the hearts of all who knew him, and gave so much of himself to everyone. He will be dearly missed. Survivors include: (Children) Victoria, Sebastian and Alexander, (Mother) Barbara Griffin, (Father) John Brattain, (Siblings) David (Jennifer), Diana (Steve) Schmalz, Douglas (Lisa), Gregory Griffin, Leandra (Greg) Houchin, and Michael. Also included are 15 nieces and nephews, 1 great-niece, and 1 great-nephew. He was preceded in passing by nephew Kurt and step-mother Jodi.

A memorial service has been scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory, Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46250 on Friday, July 25, 2014. General condolence and visitation will precede the service from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Daren’s ashes will be buried next to his mother’s plot, beside her parents at Washington Park East Cemetery, in Indianapolis.

In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted to establish a college fund for the children.
